The Original Sewing Expo

Hey Guys!

Saturday, I went with some sewing buddies and went to the Original Sewing Expo.  This is the first time I ever went to something like the expo and I really did not know what to expect.  It was really amazing! There was sewing machines….Vikings, Babylocks, Free Motion Machines..I tried them all.  I think my next machine will be a Babylock.   I really like the Babylock Tempo.  What do you guys think?  I sat in for a few lectures, tried out a bunch of notions and purchased  the bias tape ruler and a new seam ripper.  I saw a demo on the Go Baby!  I think I will have to save for that one.  I did not win anything but all in all it was a great day.  Oh, I forgot, I got some fabric!  Here’s today’s eye candy:

This fabric is called Vintage Valentine by Kokka, which was purchased at Some Art Fabric.

This is called Transistor Radios from the collection Ruby Star Rising by Melody Miller.  I plan on making the Happy Husband and I iPad covers. If you guys saw a tutorial for it please let me know! Also, in this picture is my new seam ripper!  I will let you know how it works out for me.

Alexander Henry Bistro

This fabric caught my heart!  I saw it at the beginning and went back right before I left.  It is called “Bistro” by Alexander Henry.  This is not the first Alexander Henry I got…I think he is my new favorite!

Well, that is all for now, until next time…Sew Pretty!

I am just a girl trying to be crafty. Well really a woman but my thoughts are girly. I am embarking on a journey. I hope to complete all of my goals, share and learn from others.

  1. How fun! I love the fabrics. Can’t wait to see what you do with them.
I made an “e-reader” tote for my sister, will post a photo. I used leftover squares from a quilt I had made for her. I’ve seen some plastic being sold that you slip inbetween the layers to protect the glass on the device. I think I used cardboard; but may have used a piece of plastic. I put handles on it so she can carry like a purse.l I would think for a man, you might want to skip the handle and use a velcro type closure or a loop and button closure.
