Karefully Made

Life. Love. Quilts.

January’s Finish Goal

Hello Everyone!

I have to admit I have been super busy enjoying all the free sewing time and feeling the pressure to get everything I want to make ..made before I get a REAL job. ;0)  One day that will happen.  Just the same I was able to finish my goal for January which was to finish piecing my son’s quilt.  Here is it:

Let me just say, the quilt is perfect for my son but was painful for me to piece.  It was not fun to make at all!  It was a huge life sized puzzle that was not getting along with me.  Just the same …I am sure he will love it!

So my goals for February are:

  • Complete my Stash Bee Block
  • Complete my Hope.Do.Good.Stiches block
  • Finish my March Birthday gift

Until next time, Sew Pretty!

A New Book to Review & More Coming!

Hey Guys,

I am ready to relax and read.  I have my tea (in my Starbucks Quilted Mug) and my cookies.  What else could be more perfect!  Wednesday I got the very popular book, Zakka Style by Rashida Coleman-Hale.

Rashida blogs over at I Heart Linen.  She has a new collection coming out and if you have a chance you should head on over and check it out.  I saw the fabrics in person at a Whipstitch event and it is absolutely stunning!  I have just started reading the book today and I really do read before I attempt anything!  I want to make sure I choose wisely.  ;0)  So this book will most likely be my next Review.  I also want to let you know what coming in the mail.  I am really excited about these two book!

Here’s the first one…

This book is by Natalie Bonner who blogs over at Piece N Quilt.  This book was recommended to me as the best choice for a beginner free motion quilter.  One of my goals is to learn how to, or at least attempt Free Motion Quilting.  I will keep you posted on that!

The second book coming is …

This book is about using pre-cuts and is by Kathreen Ricketson.  She blogs over at Whip Up.  I saw this book at Barns & Noble and was instantly inspired by the quilts, glossy paper and pretty fabric.  About a week later, I had no choice …I ordered it.

Well that is all for now….hopefully tomorrow I will be finished with my Project Quilting.  Have a great day!
