Quilt Shop a Day & More

Hey Guys!

Hope you are still getting things done!  As my Happy Husband says, slow and steady wins the race.  Today I went over to Intown Quilters to (one) get my submission for Quilt Shop a Day and (two) to pick my fabric for The Sewing Loft’s Quick as a Fox Sew-A-Long.  You can go check out the flicker group here.

ImageIf you are not doing this Sew Along, you should.  It is a short one and is meant for new quilters such as myself!  You only make nine block…think about it and give it a try.  Here are the fabrics I picked for this quilt.  I really think they are pretty!

Here are my pictures of my quilt shop, Intown Quilters.  I spend too much time and as my husband says…too much money here!  It takes time to get the right fabric right?  Right!  If you live in the Atlanta area, this is where I would suggest to your shopping!  They are so sweet and always helpful.  Any who, here I am!

I am going to head on over to Quilt Shop A Day to submit my picture…I hope if you have the time you will support your local fabric shop.  Until tomorrow….Sew Pretty!

My Day & Quilt Shop A Day Contest

Hey Guys!

I hope you are having a good day!  Today was a no sew day. Instead I did some online shopping for the Pile O’ Fabrics Skill Block of the Month.  I have finally decided on this fabric…it is called Chicopee by Denyse Schmidt.   I looked it up after reading Pile O’ Fabric’s post.  When she mentioned the print, I looked it up and instantly fell in love.  I think she is using this as the back but I plan to use the prints and solids in the back and in the front.  I purchased at West Wood Acres.  You should head on over there….I think she has great prices!

I got some coordinating solids also…I think I will get more as I go along.  I will share the solids I got once they come in the mail.  Well that’s enough of that …Let me tell you about the contest.

I saw this picture on Facebook on Free Spirit’s Facebook page… If you click on the picture you will be sent to their Facebook page.

My Quilting Wish List

Image

I sometimes go to my local quilt shop, Intown Quilters, and I find myself loving everything.  I browse through their notions and feel as if I need EVERYTHING!  I NEED THIS FABIC, I need this notion because it will make me BETTER!  I go to the bookstore and resist from buying every book with pages and pages of beautiful quilts.  Shiny, glossy pages of quilts and directions to make those quilts.  Oh the temptation!  I have to stop myself and consider if my impulses will impede my Happy Husband.  WIth that said, i decided to share my  very long wish list.  I will be revisiting this list every month and checking off items, adding items along with sharing my experience with those items.  Hopefully my Happy Husband will stop by my little blog and buy me something special…;0)

  1. Wonder Clips- 50 Pack
  2. Sewline Gift Set-  Includes Fabric Glue Pen, Fabric Pencil, Lead and Trio Pencil
  3. Fabric Line Oh Deer by MoMo
  4. Fabric Line Noteworthy by Sweetwater
  5. Fabric Line Type by Windham Fabri
  6. Fabric Line Marmalade by Moda

I know my list is short, I did some editing because it was SHAMEFULLY long……;0)
