Work In Progress

Hey Guys!

Tonight I will revealing a finished quilt…maybe two finished quilts!  Last night I took a class with a friend and made two envelope pillows and finished another clutch.  I have been a busy girl.  Here is a picture of the latest clutch …this one is quilted!

Next I will be working on these two quilts:

I have done all the cutting for this quilt and have to start piecing.

The picture below is my goal for Lovely Year of Finishes.  This month is almost over so I really need to get a move on!

That is all for today, I will be back tonight (maybe) to post my finished quilt!

Until next time, Sew Pretty!

Work In Progress

Hey Guys!

I have been chugging along with my projects!   Today I did some quilting on my Cloud Song and I worked on some blocks for my Block of the month.  I am really loving this fabric!  Here are some pictures for you!

The fabric is Alexander Henry and some Kona Solids.  IMG_0381

The picture is at a weird angle but this block is called the Double Nine Patch.  I like it but I think it is a bit busy. IMG_0378

This is a variation of the Rail Fence block, more like a pin wheel.

This block is the Rail Fence but it looks more like chevrons to me.   Well that is all for tonight.  I think I will relax with the Happy Husband and prepare myself for the task of quilting, then on to the next project!  Until next time, Sew Pretty! ~Kare

The Truth about Work In Progress

Hey Guys!

Consider this my confession!  I have a number of Work In Progress going and it seems like I attention span is really short….I can be so focused on one project then I get tired of it.  Do any of you have that problem?  Here are my work in progress….I hope to soon have something finished!

This is my newest WIP.   It has my full attention ….lucky WIP

I will be talking about this quilt tomorrow.  I am making this for a friend’s daughter.  All the cutting is done and I think will be submitting it this Sunday for Project Quilting.  This quilt below is also for my friend ….you should check out her blog!  She is a fitness person.  Both are due at the end of the month.  Slow and Steady wins the race! work in progress

The quilt below is for another friend who has already had her baby.  I am having such a hard time finishing up this scrappy trip along!   Poor WIP!  Hopefully I will have it done before April!

Work In Progress

Hey Guys!

Well…my husband is home today, he is under the weather but while he resting he is constantly saying…You working on my quilt for my friend?  Oh it soooo pretty!  He is really cracking me up!  Any other time he be complaining about my other Sewing MANchine Fabio (because my SM is temperamental with the stitching) Any who I have finished all my cutting and now piecing together the blocks.  The blocks are from a tutorial which I will talk about more on Thursday.  Here is a picture for you..I may post again tonight on my progress.

I got this fabric from Fat Quarter Shop the collection is call Les Amis by Patty Sloniger for Michael Miller Fabrics.  I get 10 fat quarters every month from their monthly program.  I added a two solids to each of the two color groups.

Two Groups

Here are both groups of the fabric.  I added the solid strip and the white dot fabric.  I think the turtles are super cute!

I have finished three blocks and stitched them together.

So far, I have finished three blocks and stitched them together.

Here is a picture of all the cut strips sorted…sorting done by the Happy Husband!  He has a “toss method.”  He literally tossed the strips in the air and then stacked them up.  I really think he was entertaining himself. ;0)

I will be linking up to Freshly Pieced today for WIP.  If you are visiting from there please let me know, I love to hear to your comments!

Until next time, Sew Pretty!

Hey Guys!

You remember this?

IMG_0058

I am so over it!  I have instead started over!  I decided to take the Scrappy Trip Along route.  Today I made myself a sample…Let’s take a look.

The baby I am making this for (Bently) nursery is decorated with pirates!  I really like how this is shaping up.  I am starting to feel inspired.  My plan is to make a quilt, a car seat quilt and a set of burp cloths.  It is my hope to be done with the main quilt this weekend.  I think I can do it!

Here are all of my cuts!

Work In Progress

Hey Guys!

I have been busy today! I started the day by pressing all of my pink and white squares for project quilting. Then, I made sure all of my squares were exactly 5 inches by 5 inches. Slow work but really worth it once it’s time to sew. Around 2pm I took a break and decided to cook dinner. Dinner tonight was fried chicken, salad and potato salad. On a whim, I made some cupcakes with lemon butter cream. They were sooo good! Here is a picture.

Yum!

Yum!

After cooking, I went to Whipstitch to hang out with my sewing buddies and draw a diagonal line on all of those squares. Talking and snacking sure does make the time fly!  Plus I had a friend helping me, Thanks D ;0).  Here are some pictures of the process.

Slow but worthy work for a quilter.

You cannot imagine how many times I drew this line!

Tomorrow, I will be sewing the quilt top up.  I have decided this quilt will be for me!  That is my work in progress for now.  For that reason I will be linking up to WIP at Freshly Pieced.  If you are visiting from there, Welcome!  I hope you take the time to look around and comment!  I love comments!

Until, next time Sew Pretty!
